I’m picking up good vibrations

Voila le Maybelline Pulse Perfection vibrating mascara. The name says it all and the packages promises the 7 wonders to your eyelashes…

The mascara peaked my interest because I just heard that Lancome was coming up with an oscillating foundation, making me eager to see what will come out next on from the marketing vibrating trend. The beauty industry is obviously inspired lately and while I wait for Apple to come up with something new, I am not against filling my purse in the meantime with a few fun gadgets.

And for a proper review of the product, I suggest that you check my dear and lovely friend from Beauty Maverick who is the authority in the world of Beauty.

When I was in theatre school, a petite and discreet girl arrived on stage for an improvisation.  The minute she started acting, her presence literally took over the stage a bit like in Alice in Wonderland and suddenly I felt the shivers run down my spine. To this day, these shivers are a sure sign that I am facing talent whether from music, acting or any form of creative adventure.

Last night, I went to see Dorcas Evelene in her one woman show Unwritten at the Symphony Space and there they were: the chills!

Dorcas is pure raw energy, capable of making you laugh and think at the same time. She is also capable of getting you to the point of tears, not for sadness but because your heart will crack open with compassion. For all that Dorcas, thank you, this is so far the best Holiday present I have received.

I know this girl is going places and hopefully, she’ll take us with her. So watch her website and get on her facebook page to be hear about her next shows and endeavors.

How to be Wonder Woman… Diane von Furstenberg knows a thing or two that might get you there

Does Diane von Furstenberg have superpowers? I believe so because like every superhero, she has faced adversity, lost and won a few battles and like a phoenix was reborn with a superhero name: DVF!

Whether it is about style, men or business, she appears to have won on all front. Is it because she identifies with Wonder Woman and has taken the superhero as a mentor… I don’t know but whatever her secret, the result is there and beyond.

And since she is all about giving back and has a great sense of humor – that is my assumption but knowing here roots are Belgian like mine, I can pretty much confirm that one- she has written a comic book intitled “Be the Wonder Woman You Can Be, Featuring the Adventures of Diva, Viva & Fifa,”about three women who discover their “inner Wonder Woman”.

And when I mean giving back, it is truly all the way since all proceeds of her book go to Vital Voices, a movement that identifies, trains, and empowers emerging women leaders and social entrepreneurs around the globe.

I have her book and the matching tote, the only thing I am missing is an interview with my superhero…  but rest assured that’s on my 2010 wish list!

A hotel room + a library of Erotic books = quite a night!

Did you know that there is a hotel for Literature lovers in NY with every floor of the hotel dedicated to a book category and every room to a subject? I didn’t either but you can count on She is French to start reviewing more hotels from now on!

The Library Hotel in New York City is the first hotel ever to offer its guest over 6,000 volumes of books organized throughout the hotel by the Dewey Decimal System. Each of the 10 guestroom floors honors one of the 10 categories of the DDC and each of the 60 rooms are uniquely adorned with a collection of books and art exploring a distinctive topic within the category it belongs to.

But I will cut to the chase and go to the 3 bedrooms that fit our main interests: Love, Romance Language and last but not least Eroticism. Yes, a beautiful bedroom in the heart of New York filled with only books of your favorite subject and NO bad theme/ disney-like decorations!

There is a special package for the Erotic Literature room that comes with strawberries and whipped cream, roses, champagne, erotic massage oil, the Kama Sutra and erotic dice -if you are can’t decide on WHAT to start with.

The Love room will give you all the romantic literature needed to make your partner’s heart melt and then… well up to you.

Did you know that 13 Grandmothers from all different tribes and countries have created together a group to share with the world all their different healing practices.

I was very impressed to hear about them and what they have achieved. They represented all women who through the many various experiences of her life have acquired wisdom and knowledge. They is now sharing their gifts with the younger generation, transmitting the valuable lessons and inspiring us with a “it’s never too late to act”.
