French Crooner bares it all!

NB This Monday Dec 14th, due to the holiday parties, the French Crooner plays at 9:30pm

Blue-Antoine-opia-

Antoine Bleck is The French Crooner.

You know there are two sorts of superheros: the Player who knows he’s got the superpowers, gets all the girls and has this “I know I have it” look in his eye and then there is the Underdog – who is a superhero but unbeknown to himself – who always seems surprised of the success he has, has The Girl and that “what are you talking about” look.

Antoine is of the second kind. He is devilishly charming, understated, not really shy but refreshingly private (to NY standards!). The lyrics of his songs share openly and without sentimentality, his doubts and unfinished dreams and gives you the chance every Monday to indulge in that French “je ne sais quoi’ mood thanks to his great talent.

By the way, Opia is a place that immediately feels comfortable. There is no minimum cover for his concerts and it’s quite nice not to have to wait for two hours for the group to show up which is now the case each time I’ve been to one lately!

My favorite song is Cite des anges and you can listen to all of them on his website or on itunes. And for SheisFrench, Antoine shares his most sexy picture!

Enough already with the chocolate box… I want chiffon panties!

Please, if you receive an invitation to my home and, because I know you are well mannered, you want to bring a house gift… I beg you to skip the chocolate box. Indeed chocolates have a very short life span in my home, they tend to survive a couple of hours (at most) before I gobble them up on the basis that I might be lacking magnesium – I am not good at taking vitamines you see.

So instead bring a Sweet Trreats Gift box of 0 calories silk chiffon panties from SiBelle.  Yes they are slightly transparent and No I will not embarass you (or myself in this case) and try them on right away. I won’t even open them… it will be our little secret…shhh

“me whispering : I can’t seem to choose between the sets of colors. The choice are as delicious as they sound: silverleaf/meringue/rasberry/grape or lavender/cream/rose/chocolate.  Hmm, let’s stick with our theme and bring the one that has the chocolate in it.

But if you are old school and believe that underwear is not a suitable house gift, bring flowers, it’s every hostess’ favorite gift!

Naked Girls reading… this Wednesday in NY!

wp-sidebar-next2-corrected-web-naked-girls-reading-kw-1-copycurrent

Can you please tell me when was the last time a book reading got you excited?  And not even that kind of excitement.

Well I will admit that going to a book reading never appealed to me but when I heard about Naked Women Reading, I changed my mind! Their flyers are fun and sassy and quite appealing (except the one in NY , I must admit).

Naked Women Reading is a group of Women that meet on regularly to read books on any various given theme to an “intimate” number of people (usually no more than 50- far beyond any fantasies I might have had!). And it is becoming a national phenomenon with franchises popping in cities all over the US – remember where you read it first!

By the way, since I have a few readers in France, anyone interested in starting a group in Paris??

So check out their website for a list of events coming soon: it’s happening this Wednesday December 9th in NY!

Love and the Frenchwoman… what else is there to add?

“All Women are beautiful when they are loved. They are made to be loved more than to love. ”
Sacha Guitry

This is the end quote from the movie, Love and The Frenchwoman that I just rented from Netflix. It is a great movie to watch if you want to understand where French woman comes from and the essence of their femininity.  There are some long winded moments -or perhaps it is the slow rythm of the 60′s movie that with regret I am not used to anymore -so think of something sexy to do if that might be your case… like knitting. I manage to find a video to give you a taste of how French Men seduced Married Women back then and well how Married Women responded to their offers… The text is really juicy so find a French friend to translate for you if you don’t speak French or rent the movie!

By the way the movie is also worth watching to for a lesson in French elegance.

Here is the synopsis by Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide:

“Love and the Frenchwoman (La Francaise et L’Amour) concentrates on the nature of love by illustrating seven separate aspects of the emotion.

In “Childhood,” 9-year old Pierre-Jean Vaillard suffers a traumatic experience when he takes his parents’ “cabbage patch” theory of conception too literally.

In “Adolescence,” a little girl (Annie Sinigalla) constructs an elaborate fantasy world on the occasion of her first kiss.

“Virginity” is a study in frustration, as betrothed couple Valerie Lagrange and Pierre Michel agonizingly await their wedding-night consummation of their ardor.

“Marriage” finds a union ending almost before it begins as a pair of newlyweds (Marie-Jose Nat and Claude Rich) bicker all the way to their honeymoon rendezvous.

“Adultery” allows husband Paul Meurisse the opportunity to calmly provide an object lesson to his wife’s lover Jean-Paul Belmondo.

In “Divorce”, a couple (Annie Girardot and Francois Pierer) find that it’s impossible to have a “civilized” breakup.

And in “A Woman Alone,” bigamist Robert Lamoreaux meets his Waterloo in the forms of Martine Carol and Sylvia Montfort.”
