Trailers are meant to be a tease but now that I have been teased how do I do to see this short movie ?
I agree mes cheris, I should have received VIP tickets for the Sexy Film Festival in Paris, but I didn’t and now I am frustrated… and you know how I react on frustration? bien evidemment, I crave satisfaction: I want more & I want it NOW!
Just reading this increases my appetite: “Dame Factory” will shock, titillate and push the limits of how we talk about lust in a post-feminist era where releasing a sex-tape is now passe and pole dancing has become simply another form of gym-sanctioned exercise.”
So please let me know before I grab my butcher knife and … oh right I don’t even know the script!
I love when life just responds. I may be reading too much into this but it definitely felt like it this weekend.
2 days ago, I blogged about Brancusi’s Kiss, a masterpiece which he did in echo to Rodin’s own masterpiece and this week-end, “life” sent my way a 3rd Kiss !
Saturday, I spent a beautiful magical day in Storm King among landscapes that took my breath away, art that cleaned all my senses and found a four-leaf clover! I didn’t think it couldn’t get any more perfect but it did.
Just as the day ended, I met Kiss Sculptor Darrell Petit. The Canadian ex-professional hockey player has a Bruce-Willis-look-alike charm that might have been slightly responsible for my fascination with his piece. Handsome combined with artsy and I plunge!
Darrell Petit’s monumental Kiss (2008) consists of two massive granite elements, one weighing 25 tons and measuring 17 feet high, the other weighing 19 tons and standing 15 feet high. Sited adjacent to each other, they touch at the top, creating an intense physical energy and a tension between autonomy and cohesion. Kiss is the most recent and largest of the artist’s “interdependent series,” created in quarries around the world, including, in this instance, the historic Stony Creek Quarry, in Connecticut. www.darrellpetit.com
Another rapture at Storm King was Sea changes by George Cutts. Mesmerizing and wow… just as I am searching for a video of the piece to share with you, I stumble upon a website that shows the rest of his work work and what I discover: he did a KISS sculpture too !
I have to assume, Life is just having playing a joke on me at this point!
For She is French, I have collected a bit over the past years, mostly books, some photography and art but this morning like every morning, I open my eyes to the Kiss of Brancusi.
Just a postcard! Me too, I wish it was the real deal! Yet I cherish this postcard as if it was and strongly believe it carries as much energy as the 1916 Brancusi masterpiece. A piece actually that was made in reference to Rodin’s masterpiece, with whom he studied.
Princess X is the other Brancusi postcard I posses and look at every day – somehow it landed on the mirror of my bathroom. There must be something about the power of images.
I have 2 tickets for Le Poisson Rouge’s fantastic concert: World, Rock & Sword: A Musical Celebration of Women! And I can’t go: RAGE !
So I gave them to a friend and only hope she enjoys it as much as I would have!
Rage because I just discovered and madly fell in love with Joan as Police Woman‘s music - that’s is so me in that video !
