“Dearest — my body is simply crazy with wanting you — If you don’t come tomorrow — I don’t see how I can wait for you — I wonder if your body wants mine the way mine wants yours — the kisses — the hotness — the wetness — all melting together — the being held so tight that it hurts — the strangle and the struggle.”
Georgia O’Keeffe to Alfred Stieglitz in My Faraway one
Thank you N for this beautiful book!

I admit it: I am the lover type. I like the intimacy, the “jardin secret” that comes with staying way longer than necessary in bed or kissing too often for anyone else’s standards. I believe a relationship should stay in this stage forever. Being lovers -meaning being in this intimate presence with each other- is the essence of a what happens between a man and a woman, any other titles : wife, girlfriend, mistress, etc etc are cover-ups in my opinion.
Enough said but now you understand why I was intrigued by the movie and decided tonight to watch For Lovers Only. It’s a road trip in France of two ex-lovers who cross each others path after many years, filmed a la Claude Lelouche version black & white with a great playlist -without chabadabada chabadabada- & candy to the eye.

Esthetically lovely -with smoking actors Stana Katic and Mark Polish- I am enjoying every minute of it. It’s dreamy, it’s sexy -in a bit of a safe way if you ask me – but so far it’s missing something and I can’t quite put my finger on it… she caresses his hair, she bites his neck, they laugh, he washes her in a bath they take together. They even jump off a cliff together after he teaches her to drive an old motorcycle…
Maybe because the film is about those moments that are just so intimate and magical but always awkward if you try sharing them with someone else, even with a close friend. Everyone knows about how good they feel yet they how difficult it is to share them with others.
Maybe because they are not meant to be shared.

I have a feeling that
Life with you will be far too short
For all our fantasies, fun & funk
- might need to change a letter
For all our dreams, desires & demons
- in a cercle rouge as Siddhartha said
For a life of luxe, calme & volupte
- as tagged with purple neon on the wall
I know indeed
Life with you will be far too short

“Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, drew a circle with a piece of red chalk and said: ‘When men, even unknowingly, are to meet one day, whatever may befall each, whatever the diverging paths, on the said day, they will inevitably come together in the red circle.’”

Halloween is such a fun night. You get to be someone different and completely accepted for it. No questions asked. No explanations needed.
This year, Halloween allowed me to give my bad ass attitude center stage with a Lady Gaga Born this way skull face – bien sur She is French’s outfit would have not been complete without a cute skull boy by my side.

The night ended at Boom Boom Room where perversion and drama were on the guest list: a priest walking with schoolgirl, a pregnant nun & quite a few black swans. But also a 1% and a Steve Jobs with black turtleneck who just in case the bouncers didn’t think the made enough effort brought an apple with him.
Someone I bumped into said that costumes are a reflection of our inner souls. If so, then I am happy to report that mine definitely has a edge this year. And to give you a taste of it… watch Justin Anderson’s short film “Les Fleurs du Mal” produced by Epoch London for Agent Provocateur’s new collection, ‘Soiree’.

I just received a fantastic present from a girlfriend who’s hearts like mine beats in Paris & New York. I think she found it at Colette because she is always in these trendy stores but you can get them too directly on the artist, Vahram Muratyan’s blog. It reminds me of my old Parisian habit of smoking and my NY habit of having red nails (always short). We both love Paris vs New York because it always hits that dual reference reminding us of what we love about those 2 beautiful cities.
The book is out next week, make sure you get one !
Mille kisses,
~She
