When I was in theatre school, a petite and discreet girl arrived on stage for an improvisation.  The minute she started acting, her presence literally took over the stage a bit like in Alice in Wonderland and suddenly I felt the shivers run down my spine. To this day, these shivers are a sure sign that I am facing talent whether from music, acting or any form of creative adventure.

Last night, I went to see Dorcas Evelene in her one woman show Unwritten at the Symphony Space and there they were: the chills!

Dorcas is pure raw energy, capable of making you laugh and think at the same time. She is also capable of getting you to the point of tears, not for sadness but because your heart will crack open with compassion. For all that Dorcas, thank you, this is so far the best Holiday present I have received.
