Dr. Elena Bodnar was last week the winner of the Ig Nobel Public Health Prize for inventing a bra that transforms in a gas mask! Strapping it in this picture on the face of Wolfgang Ketterle, 2001 winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics.
The Improbable Research center who awards annually the Ig Nobel Prizes s based in Massachussetts and their mission is to make people laugh then think… isn’t that what life should be about? also hope to spur people’s curiosity, and to raise the question: How do you decide what’s important and what’s not, and what’sreal and what’s not — in science and everywhere else?
Believe it or not not, the Ig Nobel prize awards are held in a ceremony the campus of Harvard University and then winners give public lectures at MIT…. think twice !
Of course I love the ingeniosity of the invention but perhaps it might be the key to understanding why women have 2 breasts … so they can generously carry an extra mask to save a life!
The generosity of her invention is that it not only saves your life but the one of a person next to you too.
Whereas she had gas attacks in mind… I think the H1N1 could be a very good excuse when someone sneeezes to pull out your bra and stick in their face

Thanks Delphine!
