Joyeuse Valentinage…

Haha… I just discovered that in the XVIII th century, in the Northern France was celebrated “Valentinage” which later became Valentine’s Day.

Valentinage allowed wifes to make love with the man of their choice for a few days while their husbands were fully aware of the situation. The man: a “valentin” was chosen by the lady. The idea apparently was that affairs were considered a break from routine, supposed to keep everyone on their toes and reignited the tired and familiar woes of marriage.

Well I do cherish the advances we have made in technology and will not abandon my Iphone anytime soon. Yet I must say France in the XVIII th century was quite evolved in terms of relationships and they were obviously trying innovative solutions to harness the power of Love ;)

Wishing you a year of LOVE and Raining Men starting this very minute !

And while I am writing, I received this lovely inspiration from my friend Nancy:

Passion burns down every branch of exhaustion;
Passion’s the Supreme Elixir and renews all things;
No one can grow exhausted when passion is born!
Don’t sigh heavily, your brow bleak with boredom;
Look for passion, passion, passion, passion!
