Italian Men seem to be popping up on my radar these days – unfortunately so far it’s only happening on my screen. I didn’t mind when it was Alberoni, he is still very handsome despite blowing some 80 candles in February, but I would have gladly interviewed this new one in person!
Because everything about Fabio Novembre’s world is about love and sensuality. With a bad boy look that gives him just enough edge not to look too much of a hipster, he is a prolific Italian designer that can even make doorknobs looks sexy. I mean please, who’s ever tried to make a door knob sexy? Only a man that can describe himself as being capable of seducing all things around him:
” I cut out some space from the emptiness by blowing air bubbles, i give sharp pins as presents because i don’t want to brag. My lungs are soaked with the perfume of the places I’ve breathed in and when I go into hyperventilation
it’s just because I want to stay breathless for a while. Like pollen, I allow myself to be transported by the wind, confident I can seduce everything around me. I want to breathe until I suffocate. I want to love until I die.“
If some of his work can be more subtle than others, he shows enough confidence to display a healthy dose of provocation and play with classical refernces: such as the wall size full blown picture of l’Origine du Monde above the bar at the Divina club in Milan and a hot version of the Pantone chair.
However, I believe that Fabio Novembre is a more than just a young eccentric designer, he is a truly generous personality. Indeed, rare are the creative that are willing to share the source of their inspirations and how their ideas are formed.
Fabio Novembre has created an inspiring blog that compiles the work of others in a magnificent way. He posts everyday photos of unrelated objects, paintings and references that seek to create a universal link between people and objects and him and the world.
A fascinating mosaic that I just wished featured more pictures of himself!
