It started when I was quite young, pulling petals of flowers one at a time and repeating: “He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, …”
Like everyone who will admit it, I wish I had the gift of reading the mind & heart of the person I fell in love to know if it is reciprocal…
So I will admit that after meeting this guy that made me feel like 10 drums were banging in my chest, I was clearly unable to think straight and decided to consult my friends for an Astrologer’s recommendation. Surprisingly, ALL of them had at least one name for me (some even had 5)!
A very long week later, I walked in Anne Ortelee’s New York apartment. The smart and fun woman sensed the urgency of the situation (I guess she was accustomed to receiving clients in last-resort situations), listened to my long list of why, what, how questions regarding my new beau!
The first thing she needed was his date of birth ~not a small fate to ask innocently in a conversation on a date. After some calculations on her part, she gave me an astrological read of the situation. Looking back, I realized how good she was because despite the approximate timing of it all, the rest happened pretty close the way she described it.
Since that day, I left the skeptical camp and joined the supporters of the discipline for those do-or-die situations.
But mes cheris, I have recently discovered that astrology is not only for matters of the heart, Em & Lo’s sassy almost raunchy weekly horoscope focuses on what happens under the sheets.
The cheeky duo that dispenses daily advice about “sex, love and other important stuff” has such a hilarious astrological column that I read not only mine sign but the other 11 signs too. By the end, I am ROFLMAO!
And it is just the beginning of the affair between sex and astrology: my local bookstore dedicated a whole table to the subject lately… With titles like Sextrology and the Astrology of Great Sex, I followed Oscar Wild’s advice and decided “the only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it…”
