Women Food Photo…It’s that simple.

I can’t quite pinpoint why the new website She Eats Here piqued my interest, however the website has been on my mind for a few days now.  Not only that, I’ve been seriously debating the idea of posting a picture of myself eating.

At first, I was intrigued by the simplicity of the concept itself, one that doesn’t require an alibi or an explanation: the site just features pictures randomly posted by strangers eating food.  Perhaps why I was drawn to the site is that the photos are it’s only of women, and for once there is no judgment associated with taste, gluttony, calories or even the über-ubiquitous O word! No not that one, the other one: ORGANIC!

The food is as varied as the place the pictures are taken. The mapping gives the feeling of traveling to the local joints usually reserved to intrepid backpackers…

In some pictures the food is a big-I-can’t-figure-what-melting thing, in others a lot of licking is involved, one voracious womans’ pictures should even be Rated “R,” but all these gourmands seem to be enjoying their treat–however  strange it may appear to others!

In my opinion, the tag line should read “women enjoying eating food in photos”. 

When I thought about “She Eats Here” comme ca is when it hit me and I had my Aha/Oprah moment ! This site is about PLEASURE!!!

Women simply sharing pictures of eating what makes them happy.

So today, as I smacked my lips at the sight of a “souffle au chocolat” that magically (i.e. something that doesn’t require me cooking) appeared in front of me, I reached out to grab my camera before my sweet tooth attacked the dish to snap a picture.

Bummer, I had forgotten the camera on my desk.
