“He looks at me like he is the spoon, and I am the dish of ice cream.”
I just watched the Jane Austen Book Club movie and I loved the line… isn’t it the perfect description of desire and passion. The film is not earth-shattering but it is an interesting view of Jane Austen characters, adapted in today’s time and bizarrely, love issues seems not to have changed much in the past century. I thought we were suppose to evolve?
The point that stuck with me however, is that all these love dramas happen mostly in a women only world and that in a strange way, men are being merely supporting actors, seemingly not aware of the situation and not asked their opinions. I know you are quick to labeling it a Chick flick…
Nope, and I’ll let these 3 guys describe you the 10 cliches of Chick flick movies… it’s fun and to the point! And none of it is in the Jane Austen Book Club movie. I hope you are reassured!
